In Psalm 23 we discover that Jehovah Rohi, God our Shepherd, leads us beside the still waters and causes us to lie down in green pastures, because He is our GOOD shepherd and is always with us and guiding us. He delights in doing us good! (Jeremiah 32:41)
If your life feels like a twisting highway full of potholes with no guardrails, remember that your vehicle has two types of glass. The smallest ones are for looking behind you, and the big windshield is for looking forward. Keep your eyes focused through that one and you’ll successfully pass through whatever road you’re traveling!
Our greatest days are just ahead of us as we navigate through the rapids on the river of life. We will all go through some rough water, but must stay focused and steady. The boat was designed for the rapids. That’s where it performs its best!
What is faith? It is believing and standing on the truth that Jesus is Lord, and that He has already paid every debt and penalty to set you free. It is refusing to back down from the fact that He is your healer and your deliverer, regardless of what you feel or see or what those around you think, believe, or say. It is acknowledging that the report of Jesus is higher than ANY other report—including every diagnosis and every prognosis!
Faith is what allows us to see and be confident and happy about the answer to our prayers when we pray. We’re not waiting for a physical manifestation to be confident. We enjoy what we believe as if we had the things we believe for now in our possession!
At the cross Jesus disarmed the devil! He disarmed the power of sickness and disease! He disarmed the power of fear and the power of sin! He completely removed the judgments of sin that were against us and cleared away our enemies. We are free! (Zeph. 3:15)
What is the fight of faith? It is continually directing my mind to believe what scripture says rather than focusing on what I’m feeling, hearing or seeing around me. It’s identifying with New Creation reality instead of the law of sin and death, and holding onto God’s Word when all else looks otherwise!
The most influential voice in your life is the one on the inside of you. It either affirms that you can do great things in life, or it whines that you’re in one way or another a victim of circumstance. It continually echoes whatever has been fed into your life, which is why it’s so important to feed on the truth of God’s Word!
What are you expecting from God? If you’ve experienced a major financial setback, then you must, against hope, believe in God’s promise to supply all your needs (Phil. 4:19). Or if you’ve received a serious diagnosis, then you take the promise of God that say you were healed by the stripes of Jesus (Isaiah 53; 1 Peter 2:24) and other healing scriptures, and you meditate on them until they become more REAL to you than whatever the report says. You begin to hope—to expect—that you ARE healed and your symptoms are leaving, NOW. You expect that, because God sent His Word and healed you, and delivered you from every one of your destructions. These are is His promises to us TODAY!
God has deposited a vision in every heart to reach the world. When Jesus enters your life, a compassion for the rest of the world enters with Him. If you’re not feeling it, then it’s time to renew your mind to who God’s Word says you are and how much He loves you. The feelings will follow!
