Jesus gave Peter power to walk on water, but the devil stole it away by getting him to fix his attention on the wind (representing things we feel) and on the waves (representing things we see). Peter had the power and used it, but then lost it by doubting. If we will keep our focus continually on Jesus, we will walk in the miraculous!
Your heart is the spiritual “factory” that creates reality from what is placed in it. Your words are the raw material that the faith in your heart goes to work on, creating the world around you. That means you have the power to produce heaven on earth, or hell on earth, all by what you are saying!
Many times it’s not that we need more faith, it’s that we need to recognize when unbelief is standing between us and the promise of God. This is when we put the Word of God in our mouths and say, “All things are possible for the one who believes (Mark 9:23)! And I believe, so doubt, you move out of my way NOW in the name of Jesus!”
The day you receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord, life takes on wonderful new meaning! You discover that you are an entirely new, unique being, because the living God now lives IN you, giving you the ability to know His love for you and all that this means. You now realize what a privilege life really is—each day, each breath is a privilege, and an opportunity to demonstrate the life and love of Jesus in the earth!
Our tongue is the unseen part of our body that plants the seeds for future harvests. It is guiding us to either a safe harbor, or to destruction. What we say of ourselves, our relationships, and our future is more prophetic of our life than anything even the greatest prophet could foretell!
Moses sent twelve men to spy out the land. Ten of the spies saw themselves as mere grasshoppers in the sight of the giants that lived in the land. But two of the spies had a different perspective. They saw the giants through God’s eyes and declared, “these giants are bread for us!” (Numbers 14:9 KJV). When everyone around you is talking about giants, who are you going to believe—the grasshoppers, or GOD?
What difficulties are you facing today? Difficult times require strong faith, and difficult times produce champions! I think of Noah who built an ark when no one understood rain or recognized the flood ahead of them. We can build an ark through our prayers and communion with God. When all things seem difficult, remember our heroes of faith!
If you can get a proper perspective, or image, of how God sees you as a new creation in Christ, and how you see God in light of His love and care for you, then you will build a foundation that cannot be moved by the storms of life. It cannot be moved by negative reports or the appearances of circumstances that you are experiencing in your world!
If you’re a born again believer the devil can’t kill you, but he CAN keep you a spiritual baby. How? By keeping you distracted and preoccupied with non-essential things, thoughts, and entertainment, instead of focusing your attention on what God is saying and doing. And friend, with all that’s happening in the world right now, you can’t afford to be distracted!
Jesus paid the price for our sin and sickness and disease on the cross. So it’s not, “I’m GOING to be healed,” but rather, “I am ALREADY healed! Not because I feel healed or look healed, but because the Word of God is absolutely true and more powerful than however I may feel or look!”
