“…when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe” (1 Thess. 2:13). It doesn’t say we and our own efforts are effectively working in us, it says the Word of God that we trust and believe is doing the work—regardless of what our senses or other people are saying!
When we truly learn who Jesus is and what He has done both for us and in us, we discover who we really are. And when we discover who we are, we learn what are to be doing here in the earth. Mountains, obstacles, troubles and anything else that tries to hinder us from carrying out God’s plans and purposes will then be removed when we speak!
Is a life of faith a hard, troubling walk of sorrows? Are we to just hold on and wait for it to be better on the other side? NO! John wrote, “This is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith” (1 John 5:4 NKJV). We are to be walking in Kingdom life and demonstrating the power of God here on the earth!
We are given a truth that cries out to the ages for all who are broken, defeated, bound, weak, sad, lost, sick and fearful. What is that truth? It is the discovery of a NEW BEGINNING. God is not trying to repair what sin and satan have broken; He starts you off as a NEW CREATION—a brand new being!
If Jesus’ disciples went out healing diseases and casting out demons with the “dynamite” power of the Holy Spirit UPON them and not yet inside them as we do now, how much more do you and I now have that outworking of this dunamis, strengthening power on the inside of us to lay hands on the sick and set captives free from demons and every other influence of the enemy?
God tells us in 2 Corinthians 9 that He gives seed to the sower. What seed from God do you have that you can sow? God has given ideas and concepts to you about who He says you are, what you have been given in Christ, and what you can do. These are key seeds that you have the opportunity to sow to experience the results you want in your life!
The day you hear and receive Jesus as your Lord, life takes on a wonderful, new meaning! You discover that you are unique—deeply loved and of great value—and He lovingly works with you and in you to discover that uniqueness. As you enter this brand-new year, realize what a privilege life in Christ really is—each day an adventure, each breath a privilege!
If Jesus lives in you, you have a miracle inside you! All His purpose and power is now able to grow and develop in you. This gives special meaning when we celebrate His birth at Christmas! “To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).
Jesus is still performing the miracles that He did 2,000 years ago on the shore of the Galilee. How, you may ask? Through believers who are bold enough to be His hands and feet in the earth! Jesus is not intimidated by demons, sickness, sin, lack, or even death, and is a master over every circumstance and situation. If He lives in you, then this should describe you too!
God does not condemn us! God gives us access to His righteousness, His freedom, His Zoe kind of life for our world and everyone in our world. He erased the certificate of debt which listed all the rules we failed to follow with its decrees that were against us—destroying it and nailing it to the cross! “The Lord has taken away the judgments against you; he has cleared away your enemies” (Zephaniah 3:15).
