Very often Christians pray against the devil as if he had some power. But the devil only has tricks, wiles and deception! He tries to allure people into his trap, getting them to believe something contrary to the Word of God. “…the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them” (2 Corinthians 4:4).
Very often people think God has a huge office and a lot of work to do, and because He is so busy He has absolutely no time for them. They look at the sky wondering, “What will God do for me? He is so far away. He is so great, so mighty and powerful!” BUT, God does not say “No” to you! God’s answer to everyone is “YES!” He is reaching out to you today. “If you are hungry, come to Me, and I will feed you! If you are thirsty, come to Me and drink! If you are in need, come to Me, open up your heart and give Me your problems!”
Prayer is not about begging God to do something or begging God to receive something. In fact, begging shouldn’t even be a part of the process, because it was God’s motivation and will toward you that He sent His Son to give you new life!
“Most people are begging God to do what He has already done, in most of their praying. Then, the rest of their praying they spend begging God to do what He told them to do.” — TL Osborn
Regardless of where you find yourself today, Jesus said, “I will never leave you and never forsake you.” You can come to Him right now! He is waiting for you with arms wide-open!
Right now you and I can embrace the perspective that says NO giant of sickness and disease, NO giant that comes against the living God can exist in the presence of the One Who lives in us, Who believes in us, and Who goes about doing good and healing all who are oppressed of the devil!
God always has a plan for you. He will never give up on you. He gave His very best for you, and He desires for you to experience all that He has for you!
The same Spirit, the same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead, also indwells us as believers. So what does that make us? That makes us restored back to the image of God!
Scripture tells us in the book of Hebrews that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. What does that mean for you? That means that if two thousand years ago He healed, He forgave sin, He died for one person—then throughout all of time and eternity this same Jesus died for you, forgave you, loves you, lives to give you life, and came back from the dead so you could experience all that He has for you.
Do you realize that Satan has no power? The only power he has is that which we relinquish to him when we believe the word of the deceiver over the Word of the living God.
