Paul had an interesting view of himself. He thought of himself as a man who had died and awakened to a second chance at life. He considered himself a dead man, yet still breathing. Dead men do not get offended at other men. Dead men do not scream back when they are screamed at. Dead men can be poked, kicked, mocked, and spit upon, and they still do not respond. The devil and his followers have no weapons when Christians do not respond in fear to their evil threats and actions.
If you can get the proper perspective and understanding of how God sees you and how intensely He loves you, you will have a foundation that cannot be moved by the storms of life. You can stand fast regardless of feelings and emotions, circumstances, people, bad reports and symptoms!
The Bible says that through the name of Jesus we have authority over the devil, and over sickness and disease. Therefore, when we pray we use the authority that God gave us through Jesus Christ. We can boldly command, “In the name of Jesus, sickness, you must leave my body,” and then continue to stand strong on God’s Word!
In tennis, if you take your eye off the ball you lose sight of the only thing you can control. If you allow yourself to be distracted, defeat is guaranteed. It is vitally important that you make a quality decision to keep your eye on your goal. Celebrate it. Pray about it. Think on it only. Jesus said that whatever you desire, when you pray, believe you receive it and you shall have it!
Unfortunately, this world is imperfect and there are many diseases out there, but God has given us protection from all of them. We can compare it with the door of our house—we lock the doors so that no stranger can get into the house. Similarly, we need to learn how to use the Word of God to resist all diseases and infirmities and walk in divine health. And if an illness comes knocking in our house, we can shut the door and lock it securely.
Moses sent 12 men to spy out the Promised Land. Ten of the spies saw themselves as grasshoppers in the sight of the giants that lived there. Two of the spies had a different perspective. They remembered what God had said and knew that NO giants could defeat them (Numbers 14:9 KJV). Where is your perspective right now? Has something become a giant in your life?
What God has written in your heart, when spoken from your lips, is like a spiritual magnet that draws the favor, circumstances, and people necessary to see it fulfilled. Temporary course changes, shortage, shrinkage, or setback does not affect future fulfillment!
The picture you have in your heart is more important than what you have in your wallet, your past, your friends, your education, or anything else. Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flows your life!
You might have been born into a poor family, with a poor education and poor friends in a poor neighborhood, but you do NOT have to stay there! There is no one limiting you. You are not a prisoner of your past, your neighborhood, your status or lack of education. When Christ comes to live in you there is a new power in operation!
Never allow your fears of what people think of you prevent you from sharing the gospel. You are the worker God has sent to intercept for Christ every life that intersects your path. Don’t let those opportunities pass you by!
