God never changes but our perception of Him does. You can limit Him to the size of your religion, your problem, or your bank account—OR you can also allow Him to be Almighty God! He is the creator of the universe! Invite Him into your daily decisions. Proverbs 3:5 tells us that when we trust God and acknowledge Him in all our ways, He will direct our paths!
In 1 Peter 5 the devil is called the adversary and is compared to a roaring lion. The devil threatens, the devil growls and tries to scare you, but he has no power—he can only attempt to intimidate you and silence your voice in the world!
Jesus demonstrated that He will be in the midst of any pit you find yourself in when He went ahead of you to the lowest pit of all. He went to hell with your worst problem, the sin which separated you from God. If you’re born again He lives in you now, so there’s no valley too deep, no pit too dark, or storm too strong, where you won’t find Jesus there with you ready to deliver you!
Jehovah Shalom means “The Lord is our peace.” This word shalom literally has the essence of nothing broken, everything fixed, everything being repaired. Shalom is total restoration and total peace for all that we need. This is God extending Himself to humanity saying, “I love you!”
No other religion has its scribes read their holy books then expect their god to confirm what was just read. When you preach with a confirmation of signs and wonders you will never have a problem getting a crowd to listen!
Even after you have chosen to forgive, memories of wrongs suffered and the associated negative feelings will still try to rise up. But hold on to forgiveness! Remind yourself that you made a decision to forgive!
You are destined for success! But to get there, you have to transition out of your normal, common thinking into an uncommon thought life. Normal thinking is the rut your brain shifts into when you continually think on what you’re accustomed to—“This is the way it is, therefore this is the way it will always be.” No! Those are common thoughts. That’s how the world thinks!
Jesus prayed: “Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come; on earth as it is in heaven.” No sickness in heaven! No poverty in heaven! No weakness in heaven! No tears in heaven! If it doesn’t look like heaven, we are commissioned and empowered to change it!
There is a very real God whose presence you can know, whose hand you can hold, who will speak with you and His voice will not be somewhere in the distance, but rather IN you. He loves you and wants to live with you and through you!
There is a place in God where there is no shortage. There is a place where you are not dependent on the government, the economy, the mercy of others or your own manipulations to see the good life promised in scripture. Make this New Year the year you discover and dwell in Kingdom living!
