Very often people think God has a huge office and a lot of work to do, and because He is so busy He has absolutely no time for them. They look at the sky wondering, “What will God do for me? He is so far away. He is so great, so mighty and powerful!” BUT, God does not say “No” to you! God’s answer to everyone is “YES!” He is reaching out to you today. “If you are hungry, come to Me, and I will feed you! If you are thirsty, come to Me and drink! If you are in need, come to Me, open up your heart and give Me your problems!”
God has not abandoned us, but He has sent Jesus to every family, every home, and every person. God is our help. No matter what your problem is or what it is that you need, God sent His Son Jesus so that you and I could receive life.
Matthew 18:20 promises that where two or three are gathered together in His name He is there in our midst. When the Word is preached, His presence is preached, and His presence fills the atmosphere around us.
1 Peter 1:23 says that you and I are born again of an incorruptible seed by the Word of God. John 1:14 tells us that Jesus, the Word of God, became flesh. What does that mean for you and me? That means His Word is actually He Himself being released into the atmosphere around us. When we speak His words, He is present to heal in our midst. Luke 5:17 and many other scriptures let us know that as His words are being spoken, He is filling our midst with His presence!
We are the temple of the living God, as God has said, “I will dwell in them and walk in them and I will be their God and they shall be my people.” Wow! I walk, He’s dwelling in me; I talk, He’s living in me; I experience life, He’s experiencing it through me—I am one with Him!
In Luke 4 Jesus says, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor, to declare freedom for the prisoners….” Mark 16 says that He sends us to do the same thing!
According to Colossians 1:27, when you are born again Christ now lives in you. So, where is the presence of God? I’m not looking forward over here, or looking backward over there, or begging for it up there. I am relishing the abundance and living in the glory of His love and His life and His Spirit in me right now. I come boldly to His throne of grace and receive what I have need of from Him. I recognize that He lives in me, I live in Him, and His presence surrounds me.
When we receive Jesus in our hearts, He lives in us—His Spirit, His holiness, His righteousness lives in us. When we walk, He walks, when we talk, it’s like He’s talking through us. And when we lay our hands on someone, it’s like He is touching that person through us!
I am a miracle and I belong to a miracle. Jesus, born of a virgin; Jesus, who walked a sinless life; Jesus, who went to the cross and paid a price I could not pay; Jesus, who was raised from the dead on the third day.
I belong to a miracle because He calls me by His name. He calls me His child! I belong to a miracle and the miracle has made me, the miracle lives in me, and the miracle and I are one. We are one in Christ Jesus!
If in your life you have felt that it’s difficult to believe in miracles, or difficult to expect a miracle, I want to remind you that the greatest miracle that could ever happen is when someone is born again!
